Projects:
1. Genius Hour- We've finished our last in-class session for Genius Hour this quarter. We will be doing final presentations next week on Monday and Tuesday. We are presenting with 4D as some groups were formed with students from both classes. Attached is a schedule of who will be presenting on each day. I'm excited to see their final presentations!
2. Genius Hour Reflections-final reflections are due Friday morning (5/20) in Canvas. Students have been working on a rough draft document in class to get their thoughts together for their final reflections. This time around I have given them a couple options for submitting their reflection on Canvas. They can either submit their final reflection as a typed document (like we've done all year) or they can submit their reflection as a media file (either audio or video). We went over directions and practiced this yesterday in Canvas. If they are submitting a media file, I have encouraged them to do that at home, as it gets too loud here at school and is hard to hear. If you have any questions on this, ask your student as they should be able to show you!!
3. Geo City with Dash-We have been reviewing our geometry terms with an added tech twist. With help from my classroom PTO funds (thanks PTO!) I purchased a robot named Dash for the room. Along with designing a city that has parallel roads, angles and polygon buildings, they are also programming Dash to drive around their city. To program Dash, each group uses coding blocks in an app called Blockly. The app communicates with Dash using Bluetooth. Programming is a great exercise in problem solving, which is a skill that can always be practiced. This has been an interesting experience, and they are including some fun features in their coding. 4. Google Tour- As part of our study of the west and southwest re
